You will find that the Penn 975CSLD has incredible smoothness with no handle slop or kick back due to the five aircraft grade, shielded, stainless steel ball bearings and one Infinite anti-reverse roller bearing. The frame of the 975CSLD is constructed of lightweight, one piece forged machined aluminum;, the spool is machined out of solid bar stock aluminum; and both contoured, smooth side plates are forged, machined aluminum, combined this model of Penn fishing reels are one of the strongest and most reliable on the market. In order to prevent corrosion that comes with saltwater fishing, Penn has coated the frame, spool, and side plates with their trademark gold anodized finish. There is a Zirconium oxide line guide with titanium nitride coating to prevent line abrasions, and the recessed stainless steel reel stand makes attaching this reel to your rod a breeze. The handle has an oversized, soft hand grip. There is also adjustable, three-level centrifugal brake casting control on this reel to reduce backlash for easy casting.
