Spinning RodsSpinning rods are probably the most diverse and universal type of rods on the market. They typically are constructed of graphite or fiberglass with a cork or PVC foam handle, and are usually between 5 and 8 ½ feet in length. There are usually 5-8 guides which are arranged on the underside of the rod. These guides generally decrease in size from the handle to the tip. Unlike Baitcasting rods or Spincasting rods, the reel on a spinning rod hangs on the underside of these rods and is typically held in place with a sliding or locking reel seat.
