In order to withstand the punishments of braided line, Daiwa has constructed their Saltist STT50 Conventional Reel with its Full Metal Jacket design, where virtually all components of this reel is made of metal to ensure maximum reliability and durability.
The frame of the Daiwa Saltist Coventional Reels are constructed of solid, rugged aluminum which allows the STT50 to function properly and stay aligned even under extremely heavy loads. With a dual anti-reverse system in this reel, you are capable of achieving the maximum casting ability due to the fact that the spool and handle don’t back spin during a cast. The handle is definitely designed for maximum comfort with its super comfortable hand grip and the ability to be locked in two positions. The durability and smoothness of this reel is not only dependent on the outside, but the inside as well. There are ultra strong alloy gears which are also capable of giving you up to 30% more winding power, along with specially coated ball bearings for the spool, which prevent corrosion associated with saltwater fishing. The interior of the drag is composed of grease impregnated and stainless steel washers which allow you to adjust the drag with ease, even with a heavy game fish at the end of your line.
