The SASURF5000 is made of “Air Metal” lightweight magnesium, which is specially coated in order to prevent saltwater corrosion. The handle and spool on this reel are machined aluminum, which is not only lightweight, but extremely durable. There is a sealed drag system which gives you the ability to wash your reel down and not worrying about debris or water affecting your reel's performance. The bail on has Daiwa’s aluminum Tubular Stainless Air Bail with dual CRBB line roller. There is also a bail lock which prevents the handle and spool from back spinning when casting. There are seven ball bearing total in this reel; 4 CRBB, 3 stainless steel ball bearings, and one roller bearing that allow from extremely smooth casts and retrieves. There are Digigear, digitally designed gear and machined to allow a perfect mesh for years of smooth reeling.

Daiwa will repair or replace any Daiwa rod or reel which proves defective in workmanship or materials within one year from the date of original purchase. Retain your sales slip as proof of purchase date in the event warranty work becomes necessary. This warranty does not cover lost parts, malfunctions due to abuse, accident or normal wear, or, cleaning or relubrication required due to owner's failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance. Repairs to your Daiwa reel due to abnormal use, modification or beyond the warranty period are available for a reasonable charge, from Daiwa's Factory Service Department.
