Shad Darts


Shad Darts are a staple jig for anglers pursuing American shad. American shad migrate in the spring from saltwater into freshwater rivers to spawn, much like the spawning behaviors of salmon. They do not actively feed during their spawning migration but they are easily irritated by small baitfish and will strike at small lures when aggravated. The shad dart serves this purpose by being weighted to get down to the bottom third of the water column where the shad travel. A simple, slow paced retrieve, keeping the shad dart just off the bottom will elicit strikes from angry fish. Offered in different colors to match different colored water conditions.
