To guarantee smoothness with the Penn Interntaional 975, Penn has equipped it with two aircraft grade stainless steel ball bearings as well as a one way roller bearing which provides you with infinite anti-reverse, allowing you to achieve rock solid hook sets with absolutely no handle slop or “kick back”. The Penn 975 has a frame and two smooth, contoured side plates which are made of forged, machined aluminum. The frame, spool, and side plates are all coated with Penn’s trademark gold anodized finish which gives the Penn 975 reel added durability as well as corrosion resistance which every saltwater angler desires.
