The Daiwa BG90 follows the Black Gold standards of being a true power performer in both saltwater fishing and freshwater fishing. Built and designed to handle the biggest game fish.
The external aspects of the Daiwa BG 90 are absolutely remarkable. The Daiwa BG 90 is made of ultra strong, rigid metal frame which supports the drive train so that it stays inline under extreme stress. The silent left/right receiver comes equipped with an oversized foldable wooden handle that is extremely easy to grip and makes storing or transporting your reel easy. The BG90 has an anti-corrosive hard anodized finish to withstand all the elements when you are out saltwater fishing.
The “guts” of the Daiwa Black Gold BG90 are just as impressive as the exterior. The Teflon and stainless steel washers inside the drag prevent metal on metal rubbing, so that you are able to tighten and loosen the drag without difficulty. The main shaft of the Daiwa BG90 is made of very strong stainless stain and has remarkably accurate gearing to make working this reel effortless. There are three ball bearings that are covered with a special coating that prevents water and debris from weakening the bearing, which can allow your Daiwa BG 90 to function properly, up to 12 times longer than a reel with bearings that aren’t coated.
