The Daiwa SLD20-2SPD Conventional Reel has a frame and left sideplate made from unitized aluminum, allowing this reel to deal with the punishments from today’s super strong braided line. The aluminum rod clamp and stainless steel reel foot allow you to firmly attach this reel to the rod. The handle of this reel is balanced and has an oversized hand grip for added comfort. Daiwa has put an aluminum spool on this reel in order to keep its durability without adding weight. The SLD20-2SPD has a two speed gearbox which has a fast, push button shift that allows you to pull in over a yard of line per handle crank or shift to the lower gear for more power to pull in those large game fish that love to put up a fight. The SLD20-2SPD has a dual-point gear shaft support which gives you an added 15% winding power. In order for this reel to be super smooth and corrosion resistance, Daiwa has equipped the SLD20-2SPD with six sealed stainless steel ball bearing, which include Daiwa’s CRBB spool bearing.
