With Daiwa’s Full Metal Jacket design the Daiwa Saltist STT40 Conventional Reel is designed hold up to the punishment that any of today’s super braided lines can give it. The frame of the Daiwa Saltist Conventional Reel is constructed of machined, solid aluminum which is not only extremely tough, but keeps the reel, and all its components aligned, even under extremely heavy loads. The handle is able to be locked in two positions, so choosing the most comfortable for you is easy. The handle also has Daiwa’s super comfortable soft touch handle grip. It comes with a dual anti-reverse system which allows you to cast longer and stronger by preventing the spool and handle from backspinning.
In order to give you 30% more winding power, Daiwa has put super tough alloy gears inside the STT40. The ball bearings in this reel have a corrosion resistant coating which prevents the normal corrosion associated with saltwater fishing. The adjustment of the drag is super easy, due to the grease impregnated and stainless steel washers located inside of the drag, which means tighten it down and hold on.
