If you are fisherman that understands the punishment today’s braided lines put reels through, then you know you need a reel that is built super tough. The Daiwa Saltist SST30TH Conventional Reel is that reel.
Daiwa’s Full Metal Jacket design has virtually all metal components to guarantee maximum reliability. The frame of the Daiwa Saltist Conventional Reel is made of heavy duty solid aluminum that is extremely rugged, and lightweight. There is an aluminum rod clamp that gives you confidence that when you attached this reel to the rod, it's going to stay there. The handle on this conventional reel is able to be changed into two positions so you are able to choose which one is most comfortable for you. The handle also comes with Daiwa’s soft touch hand grip which eases added stress on your hand when you are bringing in that long retrieve. The anti-reverse is a great added feature, because it prevents your spool and handle from back spinning while you are casting, which keeps your line in the water longer instead of getting all tangled up on your reel.
To ensure smoothness and reliability, Daiwa uses super strong alloy gears which provides the fisherman with up to 30% more winding power. The STT30TH comes with Daiwa’s super drag which has stainless steel and grease impregnated washers that provide an extremely smooth drag with up to a 22% increase in drag power compared to similar sized reels. The spool of the Daiwa STT30TH rides on 2 CRBB (Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings), two stainless steel bearings, and one roller bearing which gives the reel smooth reeling power.
